Happy International Dance Day!!💃🥰 I danced to this simple choreo with my Arya class for the first time in 2008, and for a few years after with random modifications of my own each time.

And then one year I went to a BHS SASA show and was in awe of seeing this choreo being used for a dance. I didn’t go to BHS my first year, but every class after me has been using this choreo in their freshmen dance at SASA shows (to this day! Yes I spent yesterday watching youtube videos of random kids I don’t know🤷♀️).

For the past 10 years, this simple choreo that I loved as a kid has brought hundreds of dancers together, and it honestly fills my heart up so much! This is just one of the ways dance has made a lasting impact on my life. Joining an organization like SASA became one of the most defining moments in my life for embracing my culture, following my passions, and accepting who I truly was!

This is around the time SASA shows are held, and I can’t imagine how the students this year must be feeling in not getting to showcase their talent and hard work. But I hope they know their efforts and passion will never go unnoticed! So much love to all the past and current members, Yay SASA😂!
