Understanding Loneliness and Its Harmful Effects

One of my friends wanted me to share this video with all of you and I’m so glad he sent this to me today! I highly encourage you to take out a few minutes to watch this short and informative video on understanding the signs, science behind, and effects of loneliness.

I won’t say much about it, because I think the video does an amazing job of explaining something that so many people–especially in our world today–are going through. This is one of those things that can be extremely difficult for people to understand, and sometimes even harder to explain to others.

With a lot of us becoming so busy with school or work, it becomes easy to let go of the connections in our lives. As the video explains, being alone and being lonely are completely different. Although being alone has some amazing benefits, prolonged periods of feeling lonely can led to harmful consequences to one’s health and well-being.

It’s never too late to start becoming aware of the signs of loneliness, accepting those feelings, and taking measures to address the causes.

You never know why someone may be acting the way they are, and becoming a form of support can be the life-changing thing they need. At the same time, you may think that feeling lonely isn’t such a big deal, and that you’ll get past it, but ignoring it is more serious than some may assume it to be! So reach out to others if you need help and be there for your loved ones 💕💕
